Our Top 5 Newsletters of 2021
In our first year (well, four months) of weekly crypto content, we’ve published 14 newsletters and received a total of 3,390 views across all posts. We couldn’t have done any of this without you reading, reacting and rooting for us.
In this post, we’ll be counting down through some of your favorite write-ups from 2021. We selected them based on view count; but most often, the other engagement metrics went hand-in-hand with those stellar numbers. These were the five Womxn in Crypto topics you enjoyed the most:
#5. Top Five Truths About Bitcoin and How It Works
There are unknowns about Bitcoin and then there are misconceptions about Bitcoin. Some days we don’t know which is worse. This October post clears away some of the clutter, debunking myths about Bitcoin’s energy footprint and security history. It left an impression with our readers, and we hope it’s a helpful piece to revisit and share (until these truths are universally known).
#4. The Newbies Guide to Web 3.0
The world wide web as we know it is heading in a direction of autonomy, self-sovereignty and digitally native money. This introduction to Web 3.0 outlined emerging business models in this space (think fees on use and DAOs) and what Bitcoin has to do with it.
#3. The DeFi Deep Dive
Decentralized Finance often comes across as complex and full of technical jargon. This newsletter dug deep to underscore the practical elements of DeFi and how it operates differently than traditional financial systems. We loved that you loved it.
#2. NFTs in a Nutshell
There’s no denying how much you all craved NFT content this year. This was Stephanie’s favorite moment of 2021, too — breaking down the details of what NFTs really are and how they redefine beauty, utility, opportunity and ownership in our ever-changing world.
#1. What is Bitcoin?
Of all the topics we covered this year, this was hands down the one with the most love. Maria’s recap of the Bitcoin network as a peer-to-peer digital currency shed light on its role as “a key weapon in the battle for financial freedom” — reminding us that it’s time for women around the world to embrace the many possibilities of crypto.
For both of us, this newsletter has been a source of camaraderie, pride and ongoing education as we continue to learn about cryptocurrency and the financial freedom it can globally afford. There’s nothing we’re more passionate about sharing. Connecting with so many bright communities of women in this space is just the cherry on top of a very special year.
Thank you.
Wishing you and yours a beautiful new year,
Maria & Stephanie
